A Slow Roll into Righteousness
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
I’m the type of person who always wants things done yesterday. But life doesn’t work like that—and honestly, I don’t deserve for it to. I’ve lived a life I’m not proud of, and I believe God wants to see my faithfulness before entrusting me with the desires of my heart. I’m cool with that.
It’s been a slow roll into righteousness, but I’m just happy to be in the number, striving toward holiness each day. Along the way, the Holy Spirit has been freeing me from the pressure to be perfect or to constantly juggle a million things.
Instead, I’m learning the value of spending quiet, quality time with the Lord without an agenda—just reading His Word and pouring out my heart in prayer. In those unhurried moments, I’ve discovered the sweetest perk: peace. Peace I don’t deserve, yet peace that is more than enough.
If God decides to bless me with more, I’ll receive it with joy. But for now, I am content seeking His Kingdom and letting the chips fall where they may.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for teaching me to slow down and rest in Your presence.
Help me to keep seeking Your Kingdom above all else.
May Your peace continue to fill my heart as I trust You with every desire. Amen.
